Production Edge at The Extract Factory
While conventional solvent extraction leaves behind measurable solvent residues, we run every batch through a supercritical CO₂ circuit.
- The entire cycle works at near-ambient 34–39 °C and under a continuous CO₂ blanket, shielding heat-sensitive compounds from oxygen and thermal breakdown. Magnolol and honokiol arrive in the final powder with their full bio-activity intact.
- Supercritical CO₂ doubles as an antioxidant and a sterilizing medium, knocking out microbes and retarding oxidation, so the finished extract stays cleaner and more stable.
- Extraction and separation happen in one closed loop. A quick pressure or temperature shift precipitates the extract from the CO₂, letting the gas recycle instantly. The result: higher yield, lower energy draw, shorter batch times, and a leaner cost structure for our magnolol–honokiol powders.
Starting Material Edge
Our magnolia bark is harvested from 20-year-old Magnolia officinalis trees grown in Yongzhou, Hunan. Instead of high-heat kiln drying that can char the bark and generate unwanted by-products, we air-dry the strips naturally under controlled humidity. This low-temperature approach locks in purity and gives us a cleaner feedstock for downstream purification.
